TOP 5 Sports events to spice up your business trip

14. May 2026

Business trips today are no longer just about conferences and business meetings. Modern MICE destinations offer authentic experiences that combine business, emotions and the atmosphere of the place itself. Sports events, in particular, represent an ideal opportunity to turn a work trip into a memorable experience — whether through VIP hospitality for clients, an original accompanying programme for conference participants or an engaging teambuilding activity.

South Moravia certainly has a lot to offer in this respect. With summer approaching, the region is entering a season packed with major sporting events that will bring thousands of visitors from around the world to Brno and its surroundings. In the coming years, some of these events will also take place in the brand-new multifunctional T-Arena. Here is our selection of five sports events and venues that can enrich your business trip with a unique atmosphere, exciting emotions and unforgettable shared experiences.

1. MotoGP Brno

The return of MotoGP to the Masaryk Circuit is without doubt one of the biggest sporting events in the region in recent years. After a several-year break, the prestigious Motorcycle Grand Prix World Championship returned to Brno last year, once again attracting tens of thousands of fans, teams, partners and media representatives from all over the world. For the region, this means not only enormous international visibility, but also a significant boost for hotels, restaurants and tourism services across South Moravia.

MotoGP also perfectly demonstrates how effectively sport can be connected with the MICE segment. Companies can use the races as an attractive accompanying programme for conferences and corporate events, invite business partners to VIP hospitality zones or offer tickets to clients as part of incentive programmes. The combination of adrenaline, prestige and the unique atmosphere of world-class motorsport creates an ideal setting for networking and relationship building. Whether you choose to stay directly in Brno or in one of the hotels near the circuit, MotoGP offers business travellers an unforgettable experience.

This year, the event takes place from 19–21 June.

2. Life! festival

A dynamic event full of movement, entertainment and inspiration — that is the LIFE! Festival, held every November at the Brno Exhibition Centre. One entire hall is dedicated to dance, featuring workshops, performances and competitions, while fans of many other sports and activities will also find plenty to enjoy.

Visitors can look forward to a wide range of interactive activities, new technologies, tournaments and competitions. The programme combines exhibitions by professional athletes with hands-on workshops and experiences for those who want to try the sports themselves. Bring your colleagues along and enjoy an active and energetic day together.

3. Pálava Regatta

Vineyards stretching across the hillsides, the picturesque ruins of a medieval castle, and dozens of sailboats gliding across an almost endless water surface — this is the atmosphere of the Pálava Regatta, traditionally held at the beginning of May on the largest Nové Mlýny reservoir near the village of Pavlov.

The event ranks among the largest regattas for keelboats in the Czech Republic and regularly attracts international competitors as well. Enjoy this unique spectacle yourself and combine it with a teambuilding stay in the beautiful Pálava region.

4. Lužánsky Sports Complex

The Lužánky swimming complex has undergone an extensive renovation and today ranks among the most modern sports facilities of its kind in the Czech Republic. Its two main pools now meet the standards required for hosting major international competitions, while the larger 50-metre pool is one of the biggest in the country. With a depth ranging from 1.8 to 5 metres, it provides ideal conditions for both the public and elite athletes. Follow the calendar of national and international swimming events and experience the atmosphere of top-level sport — or rent the venue for your own corporate event or private programme.

Lužánky is not only about swimming, however. Nearby, you will also find the modern Starez Arena Vodova, which regularly hosts important basketball tournaments and other indoor sporting events, including international championships. This July, for example, the venue will welcome the FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup.

5. T-Arena

The new T-Arena, currently under construction next to the Brno Exhibition Centre, is set to become one of the most modern multifunctional arenas in Central Europe. Even before its completion, the venue has already secured a number of prestigious international events — from the Women’s European Volleyball Championship and the Women’s European Handball Championship to the 2027 IFSC Climbing World Championships, which will bring the world’s top climbers, including Czech star Adam Ondra, to Brno.

The combination of state-of-the-art infrastructure, high-quality hotel facilities and direct connection to the Brno Exhibition Centre makes T-Arena an ideal venue not only for sports fans, but also for congresses, corporate events and VIP hospitality programmes.

Whether you are visiting the region for a conference, corporate event or large-scale congress, South Moravia offers far more than just excellent business facilities. Prestigious sporting events, modern venues and the region’s unique atmosphere can turn any work trip into a memorable experience that clients, partners and colleagues will remember long after it ends.
