Where to escape the city heat? Places for peaceful meetings in nature

5. August 2025

Heat lovers, rejoice – a tropical wave is heading for the Czech Republic, and temperatures in the coming weeks are set to soar into the thirties. The sun and heat will be relentless, but not every work trip has to end in over-air-conditioned meeting rooms. On the contrary – summer is the perfect opportunity to combine inspiring surroundings with nature and escape the city, even briefly, to a cooler, calmer setting where ideas can flow freely.

We’ve selected four nature-based locations ideal for small team meetings, outdoor brainstorming sessions, or simply as a refreshing addition to a company retreat. Each offers a balance of tranquility, scenic beauty, and easy accessibility – perfect when you’re looking to break the routine without spending hours on the road.

1. U Mravence Forest Grounds

U Mravence Area in Brno-Řečkovice is an ideal spot for corporate events in nature—just minutes from the city centre. This fenced woodland venue offers a variety of facilities, including an indoor room with a kitchenette for up to 40 people, a rustic barn for 100 guests, a party tent, a covered pavilion, and a firepit with seating. There’s accommodation on site for 13 people in a spacious apartment, along with unique overnight options in a tree house or traditional teepee. An interactive educational trail runs through the grounds, perfect for informal breaks or team-building activities. Try your hand at a cipher game or enjoy outdoor classics like pétanque, Mölkky, or Russian skittles. The entire setting combines the tranquillity of nature with the comfort and flexibility needed for both work and leisure programmes.

2. Chalupa u Šrámků

Chalupa u Šrámků (U Šrámků Lodge), located in the village of Bousín on the edge of the Moravian Karst and the Drahanská Highlands, offers a peaceful and inspiring setting for group stays, work retreats, and gatherings with a community focus. This thoughtfully restored rural homestead, nestled in nature, can accommodate up to 14 guests.

But it’s not just about the accommodation – the owner, deeply engaged in local heritage interpretation, curates experiences that connect guests with the landscape, history, and stories of the local people. Guided walks, farm visits, immersive gastronomy, or even opportunities to take part in nature conservation or community projects – all of this transforms an ordinary stay into an authentic and meaningful experience.

Chalupa u Šrámků is deeply rooted in both people and place – a living example of slow travel with purpose. It’s a place to pause, strengthen team spirit, and draw inspiration from those who have chosen to stay and build something meaningful in the region they call home.

3. Babí lom Lodge

Just a short drive from Brno, tucked away in the forest beneath the peak of Babí lom, you’ll find a newly built lodge where comfort meets nature. Babí lom Lodge offers a peaceful setting for weddings, corporate retreats, or weekend stays with friends and family.

Inside, there’s a stylish event room with a fireplace for up to 75 guests, a modern kitchen equipped to serve up to 100 people, and accommodation for 18 guests in the attic—with a private entrance, full facilities, and a kitchenette. For a more unusual overnight experience, two nearby tree houses are available too.

The outdoor area features a covered and lit pavilion, a firepit with a grill, a dance floor, and a small pond—ideal for informal gatherings or evening programs. Parking for around 25 cars is available directly at the lodge, and the access road is a forest asphalt path.

While the lodge is a popular wedding venue, it’s equally suited for teambuilding events or family celebrations. Standard rentals cover the weekend, but other arrangements can be discussed individually.

4. OREA Resort Panorama Moravský kras

Just on the edge of Blansko, only minutes away from the caves of the Moravian Karst, you’ll find OREA Resort Panorama – a place where the tranquility of nature meets the comfort of a well-equipped setting for both work and relaxation. It’s an ideal retreat from the summer heat.

The hotel offers several conference halls and smaller meeting rooms perfect for intimate discussions or team workshops. Planning a teambuilding event? You can easily combine it with leisure activities – like pit pat, an unusual blend of mini-golf and billiards, played right on the hotel grounds. There’s also a volleyball court, spacious green areas for outdoor games, indoor and outdoor pools, and the option to organize fun quizzes, wine or rum tastings, or even an adventurous excursion into the underground world of the Moravian Karst.

And when the sun starts to set? Recharge in the wellness zone, complete with a sauna world, massages, and beauty treatments. OREA Resort Panorama is a perfect escape from the overheated city – a place to create, plan, and strengthen your team in the calming rhythm of nature.

Even a work meeting can feel lighter in the summer – all it takes is swapping the air-conditioned boardroom for the rustle of leaves and a view of greenery. After all, nature doesn’t just offer fresher air – it inspires clearer thinking too.
