Finding more resource-conscious ways to organise events is an important focus for us. That’s why we’re currently putting together a practical guide for event organisers across South Moravia. It brings together suppliers from across the event industry who are taking thoughtful steps to reduce waste, use resources more efficiently, and make more informed choices in the way they work.
Before we unveil the full guide, here’s a small preview. We’ve selected five inspiring catering companies that show how outstanding food and reducing waste can go hand in hand.
1. Rebio Brno
Rebio operates three certified organic restaurants in Brno and provides catering for small gatherings, weddings, corporate events, conferences, and balls with up to 1,000 guests. When planning its menus, the company gives preference to regional ingredients that reflect the season and, wherever possible, sources fresh organic produce from certified organic farms in Moravia.
Among the practices Rebio has introduced are waste separation and the use of disposable tableware made from natural materials. For event organisers, Rebio may be a particularly good fit when looking for a vegetarian catering provider that bases its menus on seasonal ingredients and when considerations such as ingredient sourcing and waste generation are part of the planning process.

2. Tři ocásci
Tři ocásci is a social cooperative based in Brno that runs the community space Základna and offers fully vegan catering alongside its own selection of handmade desserts. When creating its menus, the cooperative places an emphasis on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. It also uses organically certified and Fairtrade products in its cooking and baking and collaborates with other cooperatives.
For event organisers, Tři ocásci may be an appealing choice thanks to its entirely plant-based menu and the opportunity to source catering from a local social enterprise. Its approach demonstrates that creative plant-based cuisine can be a natural fit for a wide variety of events and appeal to a broad range of guests.

3. Statek Samsara Blansko
Located on the outskirts of Blansko, Statek Samsara combines the atmosphere of the Moravian countryside with on-site catering, accommodation, and wellness facilities. Close to the Moravian Karst, it provides a welcoming setting for weddings, corporate gatherings, training sessions, and small conferences. Its multifunctional hall accommodates up to 100 guests, and catering can be tailored to the nature of the event and the preferences of attendees.
In its kitchen, Statek Samsara places an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and works with nearby suppliers—for example, serving coffee from a local roastery. One of its key strengths is the ability to bring together the venue, catering, accommodation, and accompanying activities in a single location. For organisers looking for a personal approach, a peaceful setting, and an authentic Moravian atmosphere, it offers a practical and welcoming option.

4. Bratrs bistro
Bratrs Bistro is a family-run business founded by brothers Tomáš and Karel, who bring playful flavour combinations and a contemporary take on casual dining to Brno’s food scene. Alongside the bistro, they provide catering for private events and weddings. They work with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and prepare much of their menu in-house—from desserts and fermented products to homemade soft drinks.
Among the principles highlighted by Bratrs Bistro is an effort to make the most of the ingredients they use and minimise food waste. Their catering includes both meat-based and plant-based dishes, with flexible menu options that allow guests to create their own combinations. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free options are also available. For event organisers, Bratrs Bistro may be an attractive choice if they are looking for creative, colourful catering with a strong focus on in-house production, seasonal ingredients, and thoughtful use of resources.

5. Bukovanský mlýn
Located in the Slovácko region of South Moravia, Bukovanský mlýn provides catering alongside a full range of facilities for weddings, corporate events, celebrations, and other social occasions. Its menus are rooted in traditional Moravian cuisine, with an emphasis on regional ingredients and collaboration with local suppliers. Catering services include hot and cold dishes, desserts, professional service, and the equipment needed for events of different sizes.
For organisers looking to showcase the flavours of South Moravia, Bukovanský mlýn may be a good fit thanks to its focus on regional ingredients. Another advantage is that the venue, catering, and event services are all available in one place, reducing the need to coordinate multiple suppliers and additional transport.

These five businesses are just a small taste of what South Moravia has to offer. In our upcoming practical guide for event organisers, you’ll find many more catering providers who are taking thoughtful approaches to ingredient sourcing, packaging, and waste reduction.
And catering is only the beginning. We’ll also introduce suppliers from many other areas of the event industry, offering practical inspiration for planning events with greater consideration for resources and the people behind them.
