2026 in South Moravia will be marked by new venues, long-awaited reopenings after renovations, and ambitious projects that will significantly expand the region’s offer for congresses, corporate events, as well as cultural and social gatherings. Here’s a roundup of the most exciting developments you should know about.
Cultural centres in Brno and the wider region
In September, the Moravský Krumlov Cultural and Creative Centre was officially opened, expanding the range of cultural and social venues beyond Brno. The centre features a modern theatre hall and additional facilities suitable for cultural events, conferences, and community gatherings. In Brno itself, the CO.LABS Cultural Centre is reopening its indoor spaces at the Sokol stadium complex, Kounicova 22. For events, CO.LABS offers flexible venues of various sizes—from smaller rooms for around 20 guests to a large hall seating 200 people, or accommodating over 300 standing. The space is ideal for expert discussions, corporate parties, cultural projects, and private events.

T-ARENA: the region’s new flagship sports venue
One of the biggest projects is the new T-ARENA, scheduled to open in autumn 2026. The arena will be named after its main sponsor, T-Mobile, and is set to host the IFSC Climbing World Championships in summer 2027. In the future, it is expected to serve as a versatile venue for sporting events as well as major social and cultural occasions.

Hotel developments
Račice Château, where the eFI Group operates a hotel, is undergoing a major transformation. The renovation focuses on the main building, which will offer luxury apartments, a wellness area, and a restaurant. The reopening is planned for mid-2026, creating an attractive new option for smaller corporate events, incentive stays, and private functions in a château setting.

A new Clarion Congress Hotel is set to open in central Brno this April, with ambitions to become the largest and most modern congress hotel in South Moravia. It will offer conference facilities for up to 1,300 participants. At the same time, the Quality Hotel—also part of the CPI Group—will close from 8 February for an approximately 14-month renovation.
The iconic Hotel Slavia, located at the corner of Solniční and Besední streets in the centre of Brno, is also undergoing a complete renovation. The aim is to preserve the building’s historic value, with roots dating back to the late 19th century, while blending it with contemporary design and art. In addition to accommodation in guest rooms and themed experiential suites, Slavia will also offer four hotel lounges with a capacity of approximately 15 to 120 guests—ideal for conferences, social events, and more intimate gatherings. The reopening is planned for late 2026 / early 2027.
As for Chateau Lechovice, we know the château is undergoing extensive renovations and is expected to reopen for the summer season. It will offer a restaurant, accommodation for 60 guests, and stylish facilities for weddings as well as corporate events.
Another upcoming addition is the Lacina Residence in Velké Pavlovice, scheduled to open in April 2026. The resort will expand the region’s accommodation and event capacity and will newly join the OREA Resorts portfolio, following an agreement on cooperation with the operator. Guests can look forward to the services and standards of an established hotel brand—ideal for both leisure stays and corporate events and groups.

Špilberk Castle Wine bar
A new wine bar is also set to open at Špilberk Castle in spring, offering wines from South Moravian winemakers in one place right in the heart of Brno. It will be a valuable addition to the programme for groups visiting the city—allowing us to showcase the diversity of South Moravia’s wine scene on site, in an attractive historic setting, and to combine a tasting with an authentic experience of Brno.
