The year 2025 at a glance

5. January 2026

In 2025, Brno and South Moravia had many opportunities to showcase the region as an attractive destination for congresses, conferences and professional meetings.

Event of the year

One of the key milestones of the year was co-organising the prestigious International Wine Tourism Conference (IWINETC), which took place in Mikulov in March. This international wine tourism conference brought experts in tourism, winemaking and the events industry from around the world to the region and confirmed South Moravia’s strong position as a wine and conference destination with international reach. We supported the smooth delivery of the educational programme, organised accompanying and social events, and followed up the conference with four fam trips and one press trip delivered by our team.

Brno is gaining greater visibility

Throughout the year, Brno and South Moravia were showcased at 13 trade fairs and networking events, connecting destination representatives, agencies and clients looking for new locations for their events. These activities resulted in 116 handled enquiries, most of them focused on event venues, hotels and accompanying programmes.

From inspiration to on-site experience

Systematic communication is an integral part of our long-term work with the market. Over the course of the year, 27 articles were published on our blog, presenting the region, its services and real-life stories from practice. During the past 12 months, around 100 posts were shared on LinkedIn, complemented by a monthly newsletter (with a summer break) focused on inspiration and practical information for the professional audience.

At the same time, strong emphasis is placed on first-hand experience of the destination. Participants of eight MICE-focused fam trips had the opportunity to explore South Moravia on site, meet local suppliers and experience how the region can be used for different types of events.

Collaboration with the professional community

Cooperation with regional experts also plays an important role. Launched in spring 2024, the Ambassador program now brings together 68 engaged ambassadors who help attract new professional events to Brno and South Moravia. Together, we are currently working on 27 future conferences that are expected to bring additional visitors – and economic benefits – to the region in the years ahead.

Technology supporting visitor experience

In 2025, we also continued to develop tools that enhance the on-site experience for conference participants. The BCB event app was expanded with two new features – the generation of free admission tickets to Brno’s landmarks and conference public transport passes. This year, the app was used by 21 conferences to better inform their participants, and since the launch of the two new features in September, attendees have generated 153 admissions to landmarks and 189 public transport passes for travel around Brno. Thanks to these tools, participants were able to explore the city and the region more conveniently and in greater depth.

We would like to thank the entire team and our partners for their long-term contribution to the development of Brno and South Moravia. We look forward to seeing how we will continue to move the region forward together in the year ahead.
