New app features: public transport tickets and attraction entries just a few clicks away

4. December 2025

It all started in January as an idea to make event participants’ stays in South Moravia even more convenient. After months of planning, programming, and testing, we launched two great new features in our event app in September: the option to generate a public transport ticket in Brno and entry passes to selected landmarks in the region – all easily available with just a few clicks.

These features also represent a way for the City of Brno to support the hosting of conferences and professional events in the region. Instead of providing direct financial contributions, the city can offer organizers and participants a valuable benefit in the form of conference fare — a discounted day ticket — and free admission to selected landmarks. It is a practical form of destination support that enhances the visitor experience and encourages events to take place here.

The road to this result was not a short one. After handing the brief over to the developers and creating the first draft of the new features within the existing app, we moved on to extensive testing and a series of refinements that we fine-tuned across the entire organization. We then invited external testers, whose feedback helped us make the app even better.

A great deal of work also went into meetings with the Brno Public Transport Company and representatives of various heritage sites, where we set up processes and negotiated details to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Thanks to these improvements, participants of conferences and other events in the region now have an easy-to-use tool that helps them travel comfortably and explore South Moravia. Organizers, in turn, can offer not only a seamless event experience but also one that goes beyond the event itself.

This autumn, we’re testing these new features live during conferences that already use our app to enhance the comfort of their participants.

We received particularly positive feedback from the Conference of the Association of Clinical Psychologists, which took place in Brno at the end of November. During this event, 64 participants generated an entry ticket to one of the listed landmarks, and as many as 189 made use of the free public transport ticket.

The first real-world data clearly show that there is genuine interest in the new features. It confirms that simple, practical tools that make it easier to navigate the city and explore the beauty of South Moravia are a welcome bonus that can significantly enhance the overall experience beyond the official event program.

For us, this is also a strong motivation to continue developing the app so that it becomes even more useful — both for event organizers and for all visitors who, thanks to it, can discover the region in a more convenient and engaging way.
